A tribute to those we lost in the past year
Throughout the years, Voice of America has been an active participant in the Chesapeake AP Broadcasters Association. Employees of VOA have been board presidents, board members, auction organizers, seminar speakers, contest finalists, winners and named Best of Show in our annual contest.
As we heard at our recent board meeting in Ocean City, VOA is being dismantled through DOGE government cutbacks. 600 contractors were let go last month. More than 700 full timers now await their termination as a reduction in force (RIF).
If you want to support these journalists check the links below. Purchases benefit the unemployed part timers and journalists on J1 visas who cannot return home because they have broadcast and/or published balanced news stories about their authoritative governments in their home countries.

In support of displaced USAGM and VOA media workers facing job loss, loss of visas, and threats from hostile regimes, this fundraiser helps provide legal aid, medical support, and emergency relief via the USAGM Employee Association (501c3).
