A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) is rapidly becoming a part of our world and a part of journalism. There is also a great mistrust of A.I. among journalists, their readers, listeners and viewers. Our seminar features Lynn Walsh, who will focus on how journalists can use A.I. effectively and keep and build the trust we need with viewers, readers and listeners. You will see real world examples of how A.I. is effectively used in journalism and discuss how and when we should be transparent with news consumers in its use.
Lynn is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who has worked in investigative, data and TV journalism for more than 15 years. She worked locally at Baltimore’s Channel 2, WMAR-TV, as a college intern. Currently, she is a freelance journalist and the Assistant Director of Trusting News, where she works to help rebuild trust between journalists and the public. Lynn is also an adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Ca., where she teaches journalism and communication classes. She is a past national president and Ethics Chair for the Society of Professional Journalists.
